Guanacaste Art Festival Promises a “Great Fiesta”
Promising “a lavish display of talent”, the 2013 Guanacaste Art Festival will be held November 21st – 24th in the city of Tilaran. As the 6th annual festival of its kind, this year’s festivities feature more than 40 national groups from all over Costa Rica. Vera Vargas, the regional promoter of culture for the province of Guanacaste, says “it will be a great fiesta.”
Taking place from 7am to 10pm in the ATRA facilities (fairgrounds), the Guanacaste Art Festival 2013 will feature music, theater, visual arts, contemporary dance, poetry, crafts, folkloric dances and other expressions of Costa Rican art.
In regards to this year’s Guanacaste Art Festival, Vargas explained that “This festival is a way to contribute to advancing the careers of local artists,” and “it serves as a pretext to reactivate the cultural movement of these communities that don’t develop much of this type of activities.”
