The Pacific Race 2026 Brings Together 1,500 Cyclists and Strengthens Its Position as One of Costa Rica’s Premier MTB Events

The second edition of The Pacific Race 2026 concluded successfully on May 1st and 2nd at Hacienda Pinilla, further establishing itself as one of the most important mountain bike and gravel events in Costa Rica, as well as a unique sporting experience in the region.
Under the concept “A Magical Route, A Mystical Experience,” more than 1,500 national and international cyclists participated across the competition’s various categories and courses: Short Route, Long Route, and the Two-Day Stage Race, riding through some of the most breathtaking landscapes along Guanacaste’s Pacific coast.
The 2026 edition also stood out for its environmental commitment. The Pacific Race was recognized as an Esencial Costa Rica event and awarded the Blue Ecological Flag, thanks to the sustainable initiatives implemented for responsible waste management and environmental stewardship throughout the event.
Beyond its sporting impact, the race generated significant economic activity for Guanacaste. High attendance led to a notable increase in hotel bookings, restaurant visits, local commerce, vehicle rentals, and domestic and international flights, strengthening tourism and stimulating the region’s economy.
Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many described The Pacific Race as “the most important MTB race in Costa Rica,” highlighting the quality of the organization, aid stations, safety measures, logistics, and excellent course marking.
Beyond the competition itself, The Pacific Race once again proved to be an event designed for the whole family. Over the two days, attendees enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere filled with activities, live music, gastronomy, sponsor booths, and community spaces for all ages—transforming the experience into a true celebration of cycling and community.
The closing of the 2026 edition featured a live concert and an awards ceremony full of surprises, including the raffle of a Wilier Urta Max SLR special edition The Pacific Race bicycle, a Honda motorcycle, and thousands of dollars in prizes provided by official sponsors.
With record participation and exceptionally positive feedback from cyclists and attendees alike, The Pacific Race is already building anticipation for its 2027 edition.
