Tamarindo Beach Marathon

In 2014, more than 5,000 athletes and elite runners tested their endurance against 42 kilometers of newly paved roads in Guanacaste, Costa Rica along the Northern Pacific Coast. Last year’s runners were encouraged by the support of as many as 10,000 spectators from all over the world and this year’s Tamarindo Beach Marathon is expected to be even more exciting and successful.

The Tamarindo Beach Marathon supports several organizations in the Tamarindo Beach area, including the CEPIA Association (Culture, Education and Youth Psychology). CEPIA promotes education, culture, health and the participation of children and young adults in the Guanacaste region.

The events of the 2015 Marathon include a 40k, 30k, 21k, 10k, and 5k – registration is now open and fees vary depending on the race you choose to participate in.

Cash prizes will be awarded in the marathon (42k) and half-marathon (21k) distances. The top three finishers in distances of 30k, 10k and 5k will receive participation prizes.

09:00 – 22:00 – Race Package Pickup and Event Expo

09:00 – 21:00 – Pasta dinner at Tamarindo Diriá Hotel (included for racers) – $10 for spectators

Saturday, 12th

04:00 – Streets are Closed
05:00 – Start of Marathon, Half Marathon and 30k
05:20 – Start of 10k and 5k
07:30 – First Marathon racers arrive.
11:00 – Streets are Opened
19:00 – Awards Ceremony and Celebration!
