The Results are In! Another Successful Year for CEPIA and the Robert August Surf & Turf at Hacienda Pinilla

Laetitia Deweer, President of CEPIA, issued the results from the 2014 Robert August Surf & Turf Charity Challenge. Hacienda Pinilla and Hacienda Pinilla Real Estate were proud to be a part of this exciting and successful event. As hosts and sponsors of the 2014 Robert August Surf & Turf event, Hacienda Pinilla helped to raise $36,000 to benefit CEPIA – a Costarican non-profit organization that works to raise funds for at risk and underprivileged children in Guanacaste.

CEPIA Announces the Success of the 2014 Robert August Surf & Turf Charity Challenge

This year’s Robert August Surf & Turf Charity Challenge, Endless Summer 50th Anniversary Celebration on March 21st-23rd 2014 raised $36,000 of proceeds for CEPIA www.cepiacostarica.org. The event kicked off at Witch’s Rock Surf Camp with a 60’s best dressed winner and Endless Summer Q& A winner. The lucky winners walked away with a fab $100 Witch’s Rock Gift Certificate. Saturday was the world class golf outing at Hacienda Pinilla and beachwear fashion show by Azul Profundo Boutique, DJ Matos, Langosta Beach Club, & Floristeria Cristal. Sunday was an early start at Playa Avellana for the Robert August surf competition and Frijoles Face Off-Under 17 & Family Tag Teams with delicious breakfast at Lola’s. The event concluded with the awards ceremony that night back at Witch’s Rock Surf Camp and a great performance by The Flamingo Beach Resort Band.

The Winners of this Year’s Robert August Charity Challenge at Playa Avellanas and Hacienda Pinilla!

The very talented and beautiful Mary Osborne helped carry her team to victory by winning first in the surf competition and her team crushed it on the golf course with a 14 under par. Way to go Mary, Muriel, Robbie, and Clay! Congrats to our second place team Royce, Sam, Calinche, and Brian, and our third place team John, Tyler, Kyle and Aaron!
CEPIA also sent out a special THANK YOU to Robert August for his generosity with the donation of the proceeds of this annual event to CEPIA, as well as all of the event participants and sponsors – including Hacienda Pinilla, Witch’s Rock Surf Camp, Langosta Beach Club, jetBlue and the JW Marriott.

This year’s proceeds make sports and educational programs for youth in Guanacaste possible. We all look forward to another successful event at next year’s Robert August Surf & Turf Charity Challenge.
