A Rare Find on the Shores of Playa Langosta

As one of the most beautiful beaches in Hacienda Pinilla and all of Costa Rica, Playa Langosta is a favorite spot for visitors and Hacienda Pinilla property owners to get away and relax in the beauty of nature. Famous for sunsets, surf and tranquility, Playa Langosta is also a wonderful beach for finding sea shells. Just last week these beautiful and perfect sand dollars were found hidden among the golden sand of Hacienda Pinilla’s Playa Langosta.

A rare, and some would say, lucky find – each of these sand dollars was found in perfect condition. It is said that a beach full of life indicates a healthy marine environment and walking along the shores of Playa Langosta, that couldn’t be more evident. Bustling with hermit crabs, tiny snails, ghost crabs and sand dollars living among the polished stones of the shores, you can clearly see that Playa Langosta has one of the healthiest marine environments in Costa Rica.

Though little other wildlife is often seen in its waters, except for the occasional floating Pelican, the shells, crabs and on occasion, perfectly formed sand dollars show that the cleanliness of the Blue Flag Certified Hacienda Pinilla beach gives the perfect habitat for some of the sea’s most treasured gems.
