Guanacaste Has The Driest Climate In Costa Rica

Guanacaste has the driest climate in Costa Rica, and for that reason we all need to be very conscious about water consumption in our gardens.  The following recommendations will help improve our water conservation and help maintain beautiful gardens:

  • Make sure the grass you install is drought tolerant like Bermuda grass or zoysia grass.
  • Consider ornamental plants like agave, zamia, or Texas sage (leucophyllum frutescens) which are highly drought tolerant and require little maintenance.
  • Replace some grassy areas with other types of surfaces such as wood chips, gravel, or river rock.
  • Check your irrigation system to ensure it is programmed to irrigate at the appropriate times and for the proper length of time for your plants.

The Beach Club is organizing weekly beach clean-ups called Love the Beach Days.  All guests who participate will receive a very refreshing smoothie when they finish.  Help us take care of our beaches!
