ECO CORNER

BLUE FLAG: Hacienda Pinilla has been awarded the Blue Flag again this year for its effort to preserve and enhance the environmental quality of four beaches; three beaches received one star, and one beach received two stars (very few locations in Costa Rica have received two stars). These achievements are important as they align with the strategies of environmental sustainability that has characterized our community for many years.   Indeed, Hacienda Pinilla has planted more than one million native trees in the area, we have protected sensitive environmental areas, managed potable water with care, protected the leatherback turtles, monkeys, deer, and numerous other species of native wildlife. We are also leaders in the area separating solid disposals and have supported many other environmental initiatives. We invite our community to continue participating in strengthening the environmental programs of Hacienda Pinilla and the community where we all live.
