AQUA CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
Malinches de Pinilla ASADA has finalized its first year for the AQUA Certification Program.  This program seeks to publicly recognize the effort made by some property owners in regards to water conscious usage.  Its goal is to incentivize current participants in the program to continue minimizing water consumption, as well as to encourage property owners with more elevated water consumption to join the program.  Owners who join the program will not only start down the path of reducing their water expenses, but they will also gain the benefits of the program.
In this first edition, 14 properties participated in the program.  They all demonstrated their commitment to water preservation through diverse actions that allowed them to reduce their consumption.  For example, the implementation of efficient irrigation systems and the use of plants that are adequate to the conditions we have in Guanacaste helped reduce water usage.  Controlling plumbing issues and other measures helped reduce the overall water consumption.

Currently, the Malinches de Pinilla ASADA is in process of visiting each of the participating properties to recognize them as pioneer participants in this program, granting special recognition to properties which made efforts and achieved superior results.  Their properties will have a sign posted in front of the house, along with other benefits granted by our sponsors, as a recognition of their valuable effort.
This program has demonstrates that an exclusive community such as Hacienda Pinilla is capable of moderate water consumption, without causing a negative impact on the owners, their properties, or the community.  On the contrary, they receive the benefits and savings, but the overall satisfaction of knowing they are doing the right thing by taking care our valuable resource; water.
